Garden Relay (Liminal version), is a post processed performance with plants and data. This artwork started life as a mixed reality performance unfolding in a Sydney garden. I connected an HTC Vive headset to a Leap motion sensor, used as a look through camera, triggering custom software I made in Unity. For the sound design, created with Simon Howden, I connected a MIDI Sprout sensor to a row of bird of paradise and agave plants growing as a community in the soil. The video and audio were then post processed using a range of data automation and compression techniques to achieve the liminal and fluid aesthetic that emerges here.
